Baubo Belly Dancing Classes

Belly dancing classes for beginners, improvers and advanced students are held at the venues below. Guinevere's teaching has been accredited through the Open College Network. In 2004 she wrote the first ever academic modules in belly dance for the Open College Network allowing students throughout Wales to gain acredited certificates for their training! Guinevere is now offering structured workshops to assist you to gain A-Z Belly Dance certification. She runs courses in Personal Technique - see the workshops page. You may not want a certificate, you can just come to the classes below to have some fun, and improve your fitness, stamina and inner harmony. Guinevere's style is predominantley Classical Egyptian Dance. Her style has been described as 'Classical Fusion'.... She works with veils, Isis Wings, Saidi sticks, trays and fire but above all she works with the music! Classes are designed to learn progressively, developing your technique, abilities to improvise and also we learn a group dance. Please get in touch if you would like any information.

 

Baubo Belly Dancing

Guinevere originally trained in the art of belly dancing with Jacqueline Chapman in the early 1990's and was inspired to contiue. She has since travelled regularly to Cairo to further her knowledge. She has 14 years of belly dancing experience, a background in ballet and also First Class BA modules in physical theatre and performance art. Guinevere has trained extensively to enrich her skills, becoming fully accredited in 2005 in the 'Advanced A-Z Belly Dance Teacher Training' under the expert tuition of Keti Sharif. Guinevere has basic certificates in teaching, first aid and counselling which all add to her professional approach. She has also trained with Dr Hassan Khalil, Hossam and Serena Ramzy, Morroco and Sonia from The Belly Dance Superstars! Guinevere has completed her 'Original A-Z Training' with Keti and the AstroBelly Dance system and is certified to teach A-Z Belly Dance at all levels. Guinevere had great fun and new lessons at the Sirroco Middle Eastern Dance Festival in Somerset in April 2009. Be assured, Guinevere's teaching is well researched as she continues to be inspired and loves sharing new ideas, styles and combinations with her students. See you at a class!

TUESDAYS BEGINNERS CLASS HAVERFORDWEST

Crundale Village Hall, 7.30 - 8.30pm.(please note no class 23rd March - rescheduled to 30th March)

Alternate Tuesdays

New comers welcome! A gentle class that develops technique, introduces body rhythm and helps you get fit whilst having fun! £40 for 6 weeks. New 4 week course to run on consecutive Tuesdays from 13th April.

 

ADVANCED CHOREOGRAPHY CLASS - H-WEST

Crundale Village Hall, 8.45 - 9.45pm. Alternate Tuesdays

For advanced dancers who are aiming to perform. At least 3 years dance experience required and normally recomendation to join the class from Guinevere. Focused, detailed class with emphasis on raising standards of professional performances for Pembrokeshire & West Wales audiences. Rehearsals, advanced prop work, polished choreographies and ambitious troupe work. New 4 week course from 13th April - consecutive Tuesdays.

 

THURSDAY BEGINNERS & ADVANCED CLASSES & WORKSHOPS - ABERYSTWYTH

Aberysywyth Arts Centre. Good value, EU funded tickets - 2010 workshops in Saiidi style and veil dances from Feb 2010. 5 week courses from May 6th.

AstroBelly

Guinevere's classes are fun and accessible allowing you to learn structred belly dance sequences often based on her training in Egypt with Keti Sharif.

She recently attended the 2009 A-Z Belly Dance Teacher Training in Cairo.
