Baubo Belly Dance welcomed Lucia Zahara who shared her extensive dance experience with us in June 2010 on the 'Treasures of the Wild Woman' -  dance day, including Ghawazee and Trance Dance workshops.

Lucia works in Italy, performing and teaching at festivals, she has choreographed theatre dance productions financed by the European Union, been on tour with ‘Ifriga’ a Tunisian Berber group, collaborated with International artists such as Sandip Chatterjee, santoor player (Dehli); Wendy Buonaventura (UK); Faisal Taher a singer from Palastine. Lucia was guest of honor at the televised ‘premio teleton 2007’. She dances with musical groups “Ishtar”, “Amrita”, “Cantiriterra” and “Anima Meditteranea” with their show ‘il bacio della Taranta’ (kissed by the Taranta). Lucia has run children's theatre groups in Busan S.Korea, worked as part of ‘Artista di strada’, with her fire and dance shows in Spain and Zakinthos.

Paola visited Wales in July 2010 offering specialised workshops in Issadora Duncan technique and Gypsy styles. Instructor Paola brings her global dance knowledge and passion for movement ritual.

Paola's unique styles come from the merging of Oriental, Balkan, and Isadora Duncan styles of dance. From the Balkans, native Macedonian Paola blends earthy roots, rhythms, and Gypsy attitude with the feminine hip work of bellydance for a Balkan fusion style that is catching fire around the world. She has taught Balkan fusion in Australia, North America, Asia, and Europe and finds that many different dancers gravitate toward it: from Tribal to Cabaret, Balkan fusion offers a cutting edge style boost, full of unusual steps, patterns and theatricality.

As a Duncan dancer, Paola brings in the liftedness and nobility of form that Isadora Duncan was famous for - elegant lines mix with conscious expression and geometric body aesthetics. Duncan dance provides beautiful ways to frame and finish all styles of bellydance, since its principles are rooted in Universal movement concepts such as geometry, solar plexus, and breath work.

On Paola's Gyspy Treasure weekend, we also performed a special workshop at the ancient stone circle Gors Fawr, working with sacred gesture and ritual. We embraced the vast, rugged vistas of the legendary Preseli mountains and despite the damp weather had a great expereince. This session concluded Paola's work in Wales and grounded her work in a wonderful way.

Guinevere - creative director of Baubo Belly Dance and Baubo Moon Belly Dance CIC. Guinevere offers certified A-Z Belly Dance courses and workshops. Guinevere has been belly dancing for 15 years, originally inspired by Jacqeline Chapman in London and a belly dancer at a U2 concert! Following miraculous benefits to her body and soul Guinevere's journey into Belly Dance was born. She see's Belly Dance as a rich resource that offers cultural insight, physical renewal, social opportunities and a spiritual path. Guinevere lives in Pembrokeshire - West Wales and enjoys teaching regular classes, weekend workshops, performing and hosting internationally recognised dance teachers that expand her own and her students knowledge base.

Guinevere travels to Cairo on a yearly basis to update her A-Z Belly dance skills and has had extra training from Hossam and Serena Ramzy, Khaled, Sonia and Petite Jamilla, Hasan Khalil, Liza la Ziza and many more fine artists! Her style is described as classical fusion and her recent belly dance choreographies embrace veil work, creative A-Z  and the racy drum solo style. She is teaching A-Z troupe work and formations at the teacher training course in Croatia in  2011.

A-Z Belly Dance and Arabian Theatre performer Shakira visited Wales in August 2010 for the Belly Treasure weekend.

Known for her beautiful choreographies and easy going teaching style, Shakira brings her knowledge to Wales on a yearly basis and has so far given us a stunning Isis wing dance at the Hossam and Serena Ramzy Egyptian Dance Show and a great Isis wing workshop!
We all loved Shakira's Belly Magic and her great sessions in 'Locks, Pops and Rolls', 'Yoga for Belly Dancers' and 'Modern Cabaret Choreogrpahy.' Thanks Shakira do come again soon!

Suzanne is an A-Z expert and Latin Ballroom Champion from Australia. She has choreographed shows and taught throughout Vietam, Thailand and Australia. She lectures on Oriental Dane and has a great passion for teaching. I have had the pleasure of meeting Suzanne on several trips to Cairo, where she was studying and reseraching Middle Eastern dance styles.Her approach is fun and friendy and we welcomed her in July 2010 for some Cabaret dance workshops and cretaive A-Z.

Suzanne shared a fantastic fusion of A-Z Belly Dance and Latino styles plus a Double Veil workshop and lead some extra workshops for those signed up on A-Z Personal Technique and Teacher Training Belly Dance courses.

As a member of the A-Z Assessment panel and an official A-Z Assessor, Suzanne has a lot to share. Her background is as a professional dance instructor and competitor with the Australian Dance Society, WADMA & the Australian Institute of Dance sport. Suzanne specialized in Latin American and Standard Ballroom.  This wealth of dance experience has inspired her to create Arabic/Latin fusion choreographies.

Guinevere's style is classical Egyptian with an edge of cabaret glamour and fun! Her background in ballet adds grace to all her acts and she has been described as a 'spell binding' performer. Guinevere has been performing Belly Dance since 2002 and training since 1995. Her recent dances for performance work with Isis Wings, veils and drum solo techniques. She also performs bouncy cabaret acts with Saaidi canes and enchanting candle dances.

Guinevere performs throughout West Wales at festivals, parties and charity events. She is proud to have danced alongside Nik Turner (of Hawkwind) and his legendary saxaphone with music collaborations and interdisciplinary performance pieces. She also hosted, performed and jointly arranged a show with Hossam & Serena Ramzy.

Guinevere can fit her Belly Dance to any occasion from big promotional events to music gigs and birthday surprises.

She performed in Cairo as part of the Sphinx Festival Entertainment in Dec 2009 and is a regular dancer at The Celtic Blue Rock Festival, Tenby Arts Festival and The Small Nations Festival. Recent performances include D10 and D11 Dance Festival with Arts Care, Sky TV's Got To Dance Judges Round, Cardigan's Quay Side Shanty Cabaret and Fishguards Arts Experience Festival. The Sun Dancers of Ra consist of Ruth Jenkins and Amy Johnson. Training with Baubo Belly Dance since their early teens they have progressed to promise great choreographies and scintilating belly dance to their audiences! The Sun Dancers of Ra have performed at Blue Rock Festival, Shimmer Showcase,D10 Dance Festival and  been featured on S4C on the Mosgito television programme. The Sun Dancers of RA offer belly dance workshops, performance and have a strong background in contemporary dance as well as master classes from Hossam and Serena Ramzy. They are also certificated in A-Z personal technique and were semi-finalists in the Welsh X Factor! Well done girls! Amy will be leading some Belly Dance workshops in Cardiff in Spring 2011.

Lyza is a Fusion Bellydancer influenced and inspired by Rachel Brice, Tahia Carioca and Anasma. Her A-Z dance teacher Guinevere Clark has also inspired her to experiment and take risks by learning and performing more 'Classical' Bellydance. Studying A-Z bellydance with Guinevere has allowed Lyza to create a more relaxed, meaningful and playful dance style, as well as providing her own students with the fundmentals in bellydance.
